Drawdown schedule released for Candlewood, Zoar, Lillinonah

Drawdown schedule released for Candlewood, Zoar, Lillinonah

FirstLight Power Resources has announced the drawdown schedule for the Housatonic system.

It will be a shallow drawdown this year, meaning the water level is lowered several feet from its normal operating level.

All homeowners are urged to remove structures, boatlifts and docks from the three lakes to prevent ice or flood damage from occurring during the winter months.

FirstLight will use the drawdowns to do maintenance work and inspections.

Lake Zoar will be the first to lower, starting Oct. 23 at the Stevenson Dam. The normal operating level is 103 to 100 feet and it will go down to 98.5 feet.
