Channel Closure Notification

Channel Closure Notification

The Middlesex Corporation is requesting to close the navigable channel from June 27th, 2022, until July 8th, 2022. The channel will be reopened during the weekend on July 2nd – July 4th as long as conditions are safe for the boating public and closed again on July 5th. This closure will be for removing structural steel girders at span 2 of Bridge 01218. This operation will utilize the Poseidon flexi-float as noted in the Closure Plan. The closure will ensure the safety of any nearby marine traffic during this operation. If operations to remove the structural steel are completed prior to July 8th, 2022, The Middlesex Corporation will re-open the channel upon completion and notify the appropriate authorities. Additional closure signage will be installed prior to the closure in accordance with the approved boat safety plan.
